Ordinance NO. 183893 | What You Need to Know
In Southern California, Los Angeles specifically, there have been ordinances that are demanding multi-level building owners to invest in retrofitting for the safety of the people and surrounding areas. Some of the types of buildings that need mandatory retrofitting are:
- Two story or higher buildings crafted with or have existing wood frames
- Any structures built before January 1, 1978
- Soft-story buildings or buildings created with ground floor parking or an open floor space on the ground floor.
The city has started sending out orders to specific buildings to start construction. If your building has received orders or if your building meets any of the above requirements, we can help. At National Seismic Retrofit, we specialize in earthquake retrofitting services for many different types of buildings. From wood frame to steel frame to tilt-up, we can ensure that your building is up to code and meets all of the needs of Ordinance 183893.
